Project
575: Ball Plug Machine
|
Application: |
Customer
process required cross-drilling of parts.
Once all drilling is complete, some drilled holes
must be plugged to establish correct flow paths .
Current part has four holes at two different
locations on the part ID requiring plugs.
Machine must allow for hole location changes in the
future. Press
force must be verified.
|
|
Equipment: |
To
meet the potential hole location changes in the future,
servo motors are used at the two orient and ball load
stations; servos can be programmed for different hole
locations. Two pressing stations are equipped with signature
analysis equipment to ensure correct press fit. |
Project
569: Needle
Bearing Installation Machine
|
Application: |
Create a
fully automatic machine to install two needle bearings into a gear.
Fully unmanned with automatic load and unload.
Verify depth and force of press.
|
|
Equipment: |
Bowl
feeder integrated for feeding of parts to eliminate the need
for an operator. Gear
loaded into tooling nest in dial; indexed to next station
for needle bearing insertion and check ; indexed to next
station to repeat process on opposite side of gear.
Precision limit switch and load cell used to verify press;
rejected parts are eject prior to unload station. |
Project 537: Dial
Index O-Ring Machine
|
Application: |
Replace
existing process of installing three o-rings onto shaft by hand with a
piece of equipment that will do so more efficiently and with fewer
defects. Seven different
shafts, each with three o-ring grooves in different locations.
Nine different o-rings.
|
|
Equipment: |
Eight
Station Dial Indexer (four working and four rest positions).
Four work stations; one each to install the three
o-rings and load/unload station.
Quick change tooling to quickly change shafts and
o-rings being ran. QuickPanel HMI used for operator
confirmation of correct part as well as controls
verification.
